EXCERPTS:
The National Security Adviser (NSA), Gen. Andrew Azazi, on Thursday, advised members of the Nigerian Army Intelligence Corps to be more proactive in intelligence gathering in order to combat the rising wave of terrorism being experienced in the country, especially with members of the radical Islamist sect, Boko Haram.
Azazi, while advising the officers and their men at a seminar organised by the Nigerian Army Intelligence Corps in Abuja, stated that an effective synergy of security agencies will help in providing better security for the nation.
He, therefore, challenged members of the Nigerian Army Intelligence Corps to collaborate with other security agencies in order to improve security in the nation. He also called for a political solution to the crisis, describing the current approach by the government as inept.
