Whats the overall strength of these civil defense force ? It is clear that president GEJ is paying some serious attention to them.

Anti-bomb K9 teams. The Army, Police ATS and Civil Defence SERIOUSLY began to train them for CTCOIN ops right after the UN House suicide attack, in-country and in the USA.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency handle the anti-drug side of it while the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps who are concerned with protecting the civil populace, emergency relief and facilities’ protection(eg pipelines and government secretariats) are concerned with the counter-terrorism aspect of K9 squads

The truth of the matter is, since the inception of the NSCDC, the organization has been noted for high and strict level of discipline in the discharge of its constitutional duties. The organization sincerely works for the Nation’s interest rather than individual interest, and has not betrayed the trust and confidence the Nation has for them.
There have always been a great difference among NSCDC and other agencies like the police in particular, when they meet for collective functions. The NSCDC without doubt, among other agencies always display a great sense of humane and strict compliance to constitutional providence for the general interest of the public.
It is pertinent to metaphorically state here that; the Nigerian Police has completely lost its mission, purpose, and often time, acting beyond its jurisdictional autonomy and the results of these, have given rise to high level of bribery and corruption in the agency today, hence, have caused public interests and distrusts in the agency (police).
It is my greatest desire to see the NSCSC raise or saddled with the responsibilies of taking over most functions of the police. I still love Nigeria and I still remain an ardent patriot of my only country, NIGERIA
