hey, do u know what page u posted the pic of the navy SBS in distinctive headgear on cybereagles?
Are you sure that you are not referring to Army SF?
AKs……I wonder when our special forces will take to world standard and stop using assault rifles for unconventional tasks to which they are trained for….why not mp5s, can’t the army take a cue from the SSS? Uzis were transferred to the army special forces when the SSS adopted the tavor rifles as their primary firearm…yet we have not seen any picture of our special forces using them….just obsolete AKs…the NA day parade of this year will show if they have actually gotten something better…AKs….gosh!
I keep asking the very same question. In my opinion, using the AK-47 (Type 56) with its 7.62mm bullets during CQB is a very bad idea. Even SAS harp on the use of their side arms I.e the SIG Sauer P226, during such Ops.
Why don’t our special Ops units go for Tavor MTAR-21 rifles used by DSS Close Protection Detail. And I’m sure as hell that acquiring the older HK MP5 would be easy and cheap. Hey even the Pakistanis and Iranians produce copies of them.
@tobey, truly, special forces using aks is truly an eyesore. Eyaaaaaa……. The mp5, mp7 or tavor are the most appropraite weapons for special forces. Gen beeg, any change of weapons for our special forces, both the army and the navy carry about aks, built in d year 47. This for unconventional tasks. Pls guyz any change of weapons for our special forces???
Have you ever seen a recent pic of a nigerian soldier fielding an ak 47 in a recent operation
The Chinese Type-56 Assault Rifle (the Chinese copy of the AK-47) with its folded bayonet is currently the military’s standard issue assault rifle. And it’s used everywhere.
