Five Boko Haram members including a woman were killed at their hideout in dawn operation by the Joint Task Force at Darinalawa, within Kano metropolis,
Northwest Nigeria
The operation carried out by the JTF was made possible as a result of information by residents of the area. A top security source revealed that there was no casualty on the part of JTF. The areas have been cordoned off with the deployment of an armoured personnel carrier while an Air Force helicopter was seen hovering in the air.
Three days ago, JTF arrested five terrorists suspected to be members of Boko Haram.
At the time of filing this report, there was huge security presence within Kano metropolis.Despite patrols of major streets by the JTF, plain clothes securitymen were stationed in strategic locations.
When P.M.NEWS called the spokesman of JTF, Lt. Ikedichi Iweha, he said: “I will get back to you shortly.” At the time of going to the press, the JTF spokesman was yet to respond to the call.
