A team of policemen arrested eight gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram sect who attacked their vehicle at Ring Road, Hotoro axis of Kano,northwest Nigeria, Thursday.
A resident of the area told P.M.NEWS he
heard a loud sound like an explosion
around the area but could not point out
where it came from. A top police source told P.M.NEWS that the gunmen, in a Golf car trailed the police patrol vehicle to Ring Road andthrew explosives at the vehicle. “They tried to run away, but our men trailed them and arrested them,” he stated.

Magaji Majiya, confirmed the story in an
e-mail sent to P.M.NEWS this morning. “On Thursday, 6 December, 2012, at about 7.30 a.m. when a police patrol team in a vehicle were heading to a duty post along Ring Road, a taxi (Golf car) was following behind and the occupants threw an explosive device in the police vehicle.
“The policemen immediately disembarked from their vehicle, cordoned off the area and arrested the eight occupants. “No injury was sustained during the attack.Investigation has already commenced,” the police spokesman stated.
P.M.NEWS reports that security has been
beefed up within Kano metropolis.

Sounds like a motolov cocktail attack…..anyway’s good job guys.
