Barely three weeks after the Benue State Governor Gabriel Suswam raised an alarm that suspected members of the Boko Haram sect were after his life, a kingpin of the group, Ali Jalingo yesterday escaped arrest in Gboko town of Gboko Local Government Area of the state when security operatives raided the area in search of him.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the raid which took place in Gboko South, at about 3:00am Sunday morning was
characterised by exchange of gunshots
from the operatives and some gunmen, and in the process Jalingo escaped. The Benue State Police Command said
yesterday that it was a military team
from Abuja, including soldiers and men
of the State Security Service (SSS) that
carried out the operation, denying that
the police in Benue were involved.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO),DSP Daniel Ezeala who spoke to
LEADERSHIP on phone said “it was not
the police in Benue that carried out the
operation. The incident happened in
Gboko Benue State but it was the military and the state security service in Abuja that carried it out. And so we (Benue police command) cannot give the details of the incident and I cannot tell you anything more than that.”

Meanwhile, it was further gathered that
Jalingo had rented an apartment behind
an Islamic primary school in Gboko South belonging to one individual identified as ‘Dan Tsoho’. Jalingo who is said to hail from Niger Republic and was declared wanted in connection with various bombings in Borno and other parts of Northern Nigeria was alleged to have been in Gboko town for some time now. He had reportedly lodged at a new hotel in Gboko before renting the apartment in Gboko South Metropolis, the Tiv ancestral home.

According to an eyewitness, who simply
gave his name as Mohammed, “There
were gunshots around Gboko South in
the early hours of Sunday, precisely 3am.
People thought it was thieves on
rampage. But as daylight broke, a source from that part of the town told our
correspondent that soldiers were after a
suspected Boko Haram agent, Ali
Jalingo.” “This evening, at about 6pm, bulldozers were sighted at the vicinity doing their job. Five minutes later, the house was reduced to rubble. Some residents were said to have deserted the area while sighting the presence of heavily armed security personnel”, he said.

So a man turns up in your house and holds you hostage?
Or your relative comes to stay?
Or you just take in a paying guest?
      And your house gets bulldozed?
So if that is your fathers house what do you do? Lets say you were not and never involved but your parents and siblings are now homeless and have lost everything?
      What do you do?
Maybe you have spent the past period arguing and debating with the guys and they didn’t convince you now you are homeless, hopeless and wanted. What do you do?
It is very, very easy to destroy and to punish.
The most important thing is not just force in itself but how its used and this is definitely not the way.

The sad thing about this this guy is not even nigerian if he were doing the same thing in Niger he probably would not be AROUND.

Guys, some months earlier oga beeg gave us some helicopter options that should be procure for CTCOIN Op’s,amongst them was a small wonder whose name has escaped me(Oga beeg,i wud be dearly humbled if you post a link of this helicopter),This helicopter can land and takeoff from any compound wit reasonable space, and can actively be deployed in chasing terrorist on the run.Just imagine we had procure that one, could this story have hit the headlines?,No rather we would have read,”NIGERIEN AND TERRORIST KINGPIN SNIPED DEAD ON THE RUN”
The sense in which the Benue state police command is disassociating itself from the raid is quite embarrasing,it could send wrong signals to wrong places,it spells out fear and uncertain loss of authority and carefullness not to incure the rot of Bh,which could serve as a booster to bh to hold the good people of Beune state under seigde.
Where d hell did he escape from? Where are our ravens, aka UAV’S?And why weren’t ‘an eye in the sky deployed for the op’s? Wasn’t the area cordoned off? Is his picture in the media right now? Has he been declared wanted? What number should Nigerians call if he’s spotted?,So many questions,DHQt’s get to work and involve the civil relations relationship if indeed terrorism end must see the light of the day.

Nigeria has become the watering hole for religious ferment in our neighbourhood. Nobody nurses any utopian ideas of a theocratic state until they set foot in Nigeria.

That is why we had/have Maitatsine, a Cameroonian; Amrul Bashir Abdullahi of the Dar ul Islam fame at Mokwa, a Sudanese national; Mohammed Nur of BH, a Cameroonian; Ali Jalingo of BH, a Nigerien

It is strange that an idea which has not been tried out in Niger which is 95% muslim is what this knucklehead is trying to foist on Nigeria which is split down the middle between Christians and Muslims.

  5. Cutievik says:

    Thanks for being there Beeg.

  6. makanaky says:

The answer is simple, they were imported for political reasons from long before the birth of Nigeria when there were no define boundaries as still the case today either to increase vote counts in the north or to forment trouble, but has now metamorphosed into a full blown insurgent with the assistance of some political class in their traditional base.
That is why dialogue is not an option and they should be shown no mercy.
How do you dialogue witha lunatic or somebody who is not on thesame wavelength with you ?

  7. Spirit says:

This is the price we are paying for world renowed hospitality. Every Tom, Dick and harry is wellcome in Nigeria;paper or no paper. Oga cutievik, una don talk am finish. i wonder why we keep making this kind of mistake everytime.

1)One would have expected that every junction/intersection within 1 mile radius of the apartment would have been cordoned off/manned by
2)One would have expected that at least an Amebo will be in the air.
3)One would have expected at least a chopper( equiped with Nightsun) would be just 5 minutes away.
Now, this guy will dissappear from the radar and become more difficult to track.
its always very painful when I hear this kind of news.

    • peccavi says:

Its the price you pay for a lack of border control and security and an inability to issue national ID’s or register births or deaths
