Seems the big giy is admiring his Kit!
When I compare this Mali deployment to our Ecomog deployment I cannot but beam with pride. We have grown in leaps and bounds. Amazing that civilian rule has treated the army far better than military rule.
@ oga duduboi I could not agree more one of the biggest IRONIES and Cruel jokes about coups is that . Coups create so much INSTABILITY AND UNSAVORY unprofessional conduct in the same armed forces that you wonder why the armed forces conduct such HARI KAIRI( SUICIDE) .Ironically you can go back to Tafawa Balewa on average Every civilian president has procured more military equipment across the board than any military officerwith the exception of the civil war. Just go back twenty years to 1993. Nigeria did not have a single helicopter now we are barking are our selves hoarse about when will the seven helicopters be shipped to Nigeria where are the 3 c130s that the CNAF promised us ( boy is he on the hot seat these days) L.O.L
As someone that always criticized NA’s haphhazard kitting in the past, I am very impressed at the locally generated improvements seen in this expeditionary force to mali.
This is night and day, from what obtained, in sierra leone, where you saw soldiers flying their shirts, Kevlar helmets and vests were sparsely distributed, no knee or elbow pads, which leads to rapid shreading of the uniform.
The web/kitting gear was so horrible, some pics depict soldiers tucking RPG rounds in their waist belts.
Attention is clearly now being paid to aesthetics. And their resultant effect on troop morale and battle field efficacy would be readily apparent.
