The army headquarters yesterday
announced the redeployment of 317 senior officers in another major shakeup. The statement signed by the Chief of Civil-Military Affairs, Major General Bola Koleoso, said the redeployment was “part of the ongoing transformation efforts following recent promotions and retirement in the army”
The Chief of Training and Operations,
Major General Lawrence Ngubane, was
moved to the defence headquarters as
Chief of Training and Operations while
the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3
Division, Jos, Major General Jack Nwaogbo is now the Chief of Training
and Operations(Army).
Major General Poul Isang replaced Major
General Shehu Abdulkadir as Chief of
Army Standards and Evaluation.Abdulkadir was recently moved to Mali as Force Commander of the African-led
International Support Mission for Mali (AFISMA). Major General Babagana
Monguno is now the new Commander
Training and Doctrine Command, Major
General Daniel Kitchener, Chief of
Logistics while Major General Emmanuel
Bassey is now the Chief of Policy and Plans.
Major General Ebiobowei Awala is the
new GOC 3 Division while Major General
Ashimiyu Olaniyi is the new GOC, 82
Division. The new Chief of Research and
Development Defence headquarters is
Major General Obinali Ariahu while Major General John Zaruwa was moved to the
Ministry of Defence as the Coordinator,
Peacekeeping Operations.
Others include Major General Salihu Uba,
Commandant, Nigerian Army
Peacekeeping Centre, Jaji; Major General
Garba Audu, Chief of Logistics Defence
Headquarters; Major General Obidah
Ethan, Commander Army Headquarters Garrison; Major General Ekwenugo
Chioba, Director General Defence
Industries Corporation; Major General
Abubakar Gana, Commandant, Nigerian
Army School of Logistics; Major General
Adekunle Martins, Commander Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps
Major General Abayomi Olonisakin, Commander Nigerian Army Signals; Major General Emmanuel Nienge, Commander Nigerian Army Supply and Transport Corps; Major General John Nwaoga, Commander Nigerian Army Armored Corps and Major General Bitrus Kwaji, Group Managing Director, Nigerian Army Welfare Limited and Guarantee.
