Kudos to the NN. I’m particularly impressived with what the SBS has achieved in less than a decade. The NA is far behind such a model as the NNSBS.
Hmmmm……I disagree the NA SPECIAL FORCES STARTING 2009 till present has undergone extensive , rapid changes , they are not as flashy or as kitted as the Navy that came about because of the NIGER DELTA CRISIS.The boko haram crisis has literally forced the N.A to up its game, however there is a lot of stuff they do that does not hit the pages, read carefully between the lines especially when LT COL SAGIR IS GIVING A PRESS BRIEFING.
Lets forget the PR stunts of press briefings. As a matter of fact a good number of daring ops within BHs AOR are carried out by NNSBS as spearheads. The NA hasnt being able to develop a thorough SF doctorine and infact the only SF unit designate scarcely plays any SF role. The NA has not being able to up its game in the regard.
I guess you know more than our president who i f i am to quote you was so displeased became the first civilian president to commission a brand new special forces battalion last year DEC.
2012.While there is no denying the role of the NN SPECIAL FORCES, The NA special forces have seen A LOT OF ACTION DURING THE B.H crises and have more than acquitted themselves very well .Please do not let the kitting fool you .THE US SPECIAL FORCES ARE KNOWN FOR BEING UNKEMPT and un well kitted it is the level of skill that is very important.
Last week we had an incident in which 17 boko haram were liquidated as opposed to one jtsf operative we don’t know what he was but I CAN BET YOU IT MORE THAN LIKELY THE NA special forces were involved. Also we are just beginning to learn of their possible involvement in mali long before the invasion by the french started so don’t sell them short.
Well, as at today, the army has just one SF unit and they aint as efficient as the NNSBS even on land as regards special ops. Ops within the northern axis are not just made up of army as its land component, it also has the NNSBS. The army has no SF teams within such theatre. All forms of ops are carried out by non-specialised troops of which they are expected to adapt.
If you have noticed, you have never stumbled upon a picture of NA special forces. If u have then lets see it.
I am sorry with all due respect the army has a minimum of two that are well documented please see the archives i forget the number designated to them but they are designated in the 170″s
LAST YEAR GEJ commissioned with much publicity commissioned a brand new special forces battalion a gave them a s the first CIVILIAN PRESIDENT regimental colors and ceremonial sword , then it was announced the opening of their brand new barracks also it was announced that a new special battallion is being raised , also it was announced that a brigade of SPECIAL FORCES IS BEING RAISED, with all due respect as of now there are at the very least logically speaking three or more s.f. battalions in the n.a with this soon to morph into a brigade.
Long TERM logically speaking N.A will eventually have A COIN division with the stamp of S.F. written all over it. PLEASE SEE SOME OF THE ARCHIVES. In the rescue attempt for the britsh and italian FROM BOKO HARAM last year those were S.F. from the britsh and the Nigerians
