Following the public outcry that greeted the dilapidated structures of the Police College, Ikeja, Lagos, President Goodluck Jonathan has directed the Army engineers to renovate the premier Police institution.
The development is a fallout of the
documentary by an independent television station that aired the
deteriorating state of the college and
subsequent visit by the President to the Police College.Sources told Vanguard that the Presidency had released about N700million directly to the Army Engineers who have since moved to site.
Sources at the Army Headquarters, however, said the amount of money
released “cannot be said to be the final cost of repairs as the work is being done”
BACKGROUNDER

This is a very good thing to the Army Corp of Civil Engineers this provides a morale boost to the men and women of the civil / mech/ elect/ Engineering corp and it shows that sometimes after deliberation G.E.J . can be proactive, if we constructively criticize, we must also constructively praise, well done Mr PRESIDENT.
Well said, Jimmy!
Ha ha! How embarrassing this must have been for the IGP when he’s called in to hear that the army will be building their police college. Serves them right with their “Oga wetin u carry?” approach to business.
@OGA bishop of sapale, u don kill me with laugh oh. No b small thing. The look on his face would be classic. “Hol it, oga wetin u carry”. Lol
What’s new I have been to quite a few police barracks across the country as i am sure many will testify they could put some slums to shame. Its only because this one got into the public media eye for all to see and right when the President visited as well. Nonetheless what a speedy response by GEJ I commend him.
The same press should tell Nigerians about the sorry state of the Nigerian Air Force fleet of aircraft may Mr President would then set up a committee to solve the problem.
