This little ship has been refurbished to perfection. It almost screams ‘brand new’ but I am critically aware of all ten brand-new CPCs delivered to the NN since 2009 namely

    – two 38m stealth OPCs
    – four Shaldags+one
    – three OCEA FPB 72 Mk.IIs
    – NNS Andoni

so this can ONLY be one of the six CPCs refurbished by TP Marine. We have some CPCs manufactured by Intermarine, Van Mill, Damen, Swiftships, Rotork, Vosper Thornycroft(P2000 Watercraft). This could be any of those but my mind tilts towards the P2000.

We shall have this mystery cleared up in the days ahead.

So the A-List pros tend to agree with me that this is either a P2000 or more likely, one of a certain obscure ‘Marshal class’

    • tim says:

It could be one of the torpedo recovery boats or the sorts, there used to be one at the underwater warfare school, but they are now at the base.

  3. beegeagle says:

Not likely to be any of those, Tim. A simple coastal patrol craft is it…20-24m category. That was why only the 24m OCEA FPB 72 Mk.II and 20m P2000 first came to mind. The FPB 72 has a more angular front end though and a loading arm for lowering RHIBs, so I ruled that out.

Now, I have looked very closely at the 20 metre P2000 again and it looks to me like the space behind this ship is larger than that on the P2000

I can clearly see that the aft section is too crammed to be the same NN craft as we have in this photo

  4. I’m thinking older Dvora or Dabur class.

  5. beegeagle says:

Good to see you again, Admiral Rastus.

Well, the layout of the vessel – spacing and cabin on the deck makes that a plausible line of thought BUT the NN never had any Dabur or Dvora types. The first-ever Israeli platforms inducted by the NN are these quartet of Shaldag FPCs(one pending) wef 2009.
