  1. Oga Beeg, In the last picture, The soldier backing us looks like he is carrying a Tavor…Pls confirm

  2. mike says:

Yes ooo, i think its a tavor 21. And i think its air force sas.gen beeg pls confirm.

  3. beegeagle says:

Confirmed, gentlemen…but that should not surprise you.

When the JSTF was formed and deployed(to Borno alone)during the last week of June 2011, it had two battalion-strength contingents, 500 seamen, 500 infantrymen of the NAF Reigment, 500 SSS operatives and 1,500 MOPOL+CTS, NIS, NCS, NSCDC and NIA contingents.

Since then, ALL SF units, including the QRF of the Air Force have all deployed to that AOR while the JSTF has expanded to cover all of Greater Borno(Borno+Yobe) and the numbers of personnel deployed has concommitantly, increased.

You might recall that after my exclusive visit to the SBS Camp, we wrote about operations at Okene and in the Northeast and I even talked about my chance encounter with a commando who was carrying a bandaged bullet wound in his midscetion who came by while I chatted with their Chief Instructor.

I knew it KUDOS to the F.G. This does show the extent to which the f.g. is concerned about collateral damage to civillians

  5. Henry says:

It is the standard tavor-21, un-like the compact version navy SBS and SSS carry C-TAR 21.

Speaking of the navy, I think the navy has another new bullpup rifle, totally different from the tar-21.

  6. Deway says:

I think the third picture was actually part of a video of the NAF SF deployment to Niger to support the Mali campaign. I’m not sure its part of the current offensive against BH. However, I may be wrong.

  7. igbi says:

I just wanted to post this video to thank the Nigerian army for doing such a great job:

@ Oga Igbi nice one, It will be awesome if the soundtrack is Nigerian. “Obi kelelenke, etc” all the same, there is no doubt that our men and women in uniform are doing their best.
