Nice photos!! – It’s good to see our troops well kitted out (and smiling) for a change. The re-organisation/re-equipping of the Nigerian Army is slowly but surely bearing fruit. Let’s pray that all our boys in Mali come back safe.

  2. Cryptologist says:

Big ups Oga Henry… These shots goes a long way to attest to the fact that the present NA is revolving towards dynamism, flexibility and professionalism. Its nice to see our troops with the desert favoured landcruisers just like our chadian neighbours, we really adapted real quick in the mali theatre. Also love the eyes protective shield and baclava in case of sandstorm and desert dust. More wax to your boots Gen. Henry. Safe return desert foxes.

  5. G8T Nigeria says:

This looks good. Kudos to the COAS

  6. Russellinfinity says:

Ahaaa! Just what the doctor ordered. Menacing M2’s…God help anything stupid enough to stand in the way of those .50mm rounds. I’ll appreciate a protective amour plate for the gunner though. Thumbs up FG and COAS.

Brother Russ! Good to find you here.

So we apparently have two variants of Landcruiser gun-trucks. The first kind were apparently made for the Mali expedition, are armed with M2 HMGs, specially configured seats with square handle bars but do not have gun-shields while a more recent variant, possibly intended for use in the desert north frontier area of Greater Borno appear to be made to carry the STK CIS-50 12.7mm HMGs, possess the same specially configured seats with rounded handle bars and the possess gun-shields.

    Note the differences below

As you can see, the first photo shows a perfect gun-truck complete with a gun-shield while the second photo is that of an M2-armed variant sans a gun-shield
