Good to know the Police marine unit has learnt the “ruggedity on sea” from the JTF amphibious forces and Navy. Good Job! @pix, dat tin dat police officer dey romance no joke o!.

  2. beegeagle says:

Yeah, buddy. Good effort by the Marine Police Component of the JTF. They need to sustain and further expand the effort. Onshore piracy in the Niger Delta is not going to die down overnight in a region equal in size to Sierra Leone and with 3,014 creeks and waterways entailed.

More patrol boats, more airframes for situational awareness, more men on the turf.

  3. ocelot2006 says:

True. My cousine serves with the Marine Police unit, and I must say that their gunboats are HEAVILY ARMED with twin barrel 50cals and GPMGs by the sides. Don’t forget the each cops primary weapon which includes the AK-47/Type 56-2 assault rifles and grenade launchers for CS gas. These cops make MOPOL squadrons look like boy scouts weapon-wise.

  4. beegeagle says:

True, Marine Police boats are war machines.

Here are Marine Counterterrorist Unit operatives in police gunboats armed with Singapore Technologies Kinetics CIS-50 12.7mm (.50 cal) heavy machine guns.
