The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence
Corps (NSCDC), Lagos command on
Tuesday said that 150 of its officers were currently undergoing training with the Nigerian Army. The spokesman for the Corps, Chibuzor Mefor, said in Lagos that the training started on July 19.
Mefor said that the trainees would go
through the general rudiments of arms
bearing, physical drilling and mental
alertness to all forms of security threat. He noted that their men were going
through series of training programmes to equip them in view of the security
challenges facing the country. He commended the Nigerian Army for
their efforts in training NSCDC officers.
In another development, seven suspected pipeline vandals, including a woman were arrested on Monday by NSCDC operatives at Ogijo in Ikorodu area of Lagos.
Mefor said that they were arrested with
4,250 litres of petroleum products stored in 50 and 25 litre jerry cans.
