Operatives of the Joint Security Task Force (JTF) have arrested a terrorist suspected to be a bomb manufacturer in Kazaure Local Government Area in Jigawa State after a gun battle at the suspect’s residence.

According to a statement issued yesterday in Kano by the spokesman of the JTF, Captain Ikedichi Iweha, one terrorist was apprehended after a gun battle, while three women and three toddlers were rescued unhurt from the incident.

The statement read in part: “At the end of operations, five AK 47 rifles, five magazines, and 333 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and various improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were recovered from the residence after an intensive search.”

Iweha also revealed that preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is an IED manufacturer and his residence had been used as a staging ground for terrorist activities in Kano.

“You may recollect that the JTF had earlier alerted members of the general public of fleeing terrorists from major theatres of operations in the Northeast axis of the country to ‘cooler’ areas due to pressure being mounted on them by the ongoing military operations in the northeast.

“Members of the general public are once again enjoined to continue complementing the efforts of the JTF by carrying out thorough checks on the background of persons who wish to rent properties, especially in quiet zones or on the outskirts of major towns,” he said.

He promised that the 3 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Kano would not allow its area of operational responsibility to be used as haven for terrorists. “The appeals of the JTF will continue to be complemented with the destruction of properties where terrorists reside and the arrest of their owners,” he said, stressing that the efforts of the JTF would not be successful without the cooperation of the residents.

He urged all residents not to relent in the fight against terrorism by reporting any suspicious persons, regardless of gender for immediate action to prevent the loss of lives and properties. Iweha also enjoined members of the public to go about their normal lawful businesses without any fear and to contact the JTF through its telephone numbers in the event of any distress for rapid response.

Nice one. The enemy cannot break out of the Borno, Yobe Adamawa axis and in fact seems to be finding it tough everywhere but Borno. For all the criticisms, the Security Forces have done an awesome job in containing this threat.

Outside the big showy stuff it is very difficult to explain how complex and skillful one must be to combine intelligence and direct action in this manner and protect the people, particularly in a chaotic multi ethnic country like Nigeria.
Let us not forget the necessary silent work that goes on in the background and salute these fine fellows

Captured alive after a firefight, now that’s impressive! That’s what happens when intelligence is properly acted on!

One bomb maker captured alive, removed from operation ,countless innocent lives saved, In return for saving his wretched skin he will give up his mode of operation , his comrades and how he plies his wretched tools of destruction. A bomb maker captured with his tools is a beautiful start to the new year.
There will be so many untold stories about humit/ coin about human sacrifice , however even we don’t know how hellish this war and it is a war in one corner of Nigeria WE SALUTE OUR GALLANT SOLDIERS FOR A JOB WELL DONE.

Our military chaps put their lives on the line time after time, their sacrifice is barely acknowledged by the general public. Government neglect is worse, whenever these chaps lose a limb from combat operations they are totally forgotten. Kudos to the fantastic work our military do, they are responsible for the peace and safety we enjoy in areas where there are no kinetic operations currently on going
