Subjected to 16kg of TNT blasts.
Caprivi Mk 1 (the South African variant from which the enhanced Chinese-built CS/VP3 MRAP was developed) performed excellent.
No windows cracked. Vehicle moved 3 meters. everything intact. Note…this is after 3 mine blasts on the same body.
The latest edition CAPRIVI MK.3 COMPLETES TRIALS
Reports indicate that from the Caprivi Mk.1/BigFoot MRAP, an even tougher CAPRIVI MK.3 has emerged.
While the Caprivi Mk.1/BigFoot, GILA and Casspir boast Level 1 ballistics protection, the CAPRIVI MK.3 features stepped-up Level 2 protection.
“The STANAG 4569 level 2 ballistic protection with 10mm armour and upgraded turrets makes this a formidable partner to the already famous CAPRIVI Mk1(i.e our own BigFoot MRAP).
“The vehicle seats 10 members with ease and has adequate space for first line ammunition, medical supplies and general life support for the inhabitants.
“The hull can withstand 24kg of TNT mines (three 8kg mines) and tests results proved that not only the hull will survive but the inhabitants as well.”
If the Caprivi Mk.3 can take three 8kg blasts, then even for mine resistivity…not to mention her sterner Level 2 ballistics protection, the CAPRIVI MK.3 ALREADY EXCEEDS the capabilities of the legendary Casspir MRAP.
