IMAGERY FROM THE NIGERIAN NAVY’S “EXERCISE MAJEPO 2014”

Nigerian Navy ships led by NNS Burutu P174, a 38 metre Sea Eagle Mk.II stealth Offshore Patrol Craft, photographed at sea during Exercise MAJEPO, May 2014. Sailing immediately behind NNS Burutu is NNS Dorina P101, a 32 metre OCEA FPB 98 Mk.II patrol craft.

Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) DORINA P101 during the sea exercise – EX MAJEPO 2014. Donated by the Nigerian Ports Authority and commissioned in March 2014, NNS Dorina is a French-built 32 metre OCEA FPB 98 Mk.II patrol craft. She is the newest vessel in the Nigerian Navy fleet.

She is mostly tasked with anti-piracy patrols and interdiction, like the RHIB near the stern ramp presumably indicates.

Nice, very nice. Good to know they engage in exercises of this size.Money well spent.I do understand that it is harder for the army due to their large number.Ahem,i reserve comment for the air force.
Hopefully we will see more of andoni and Centenary class vessels in the near future.

  3. drag_on says:

There may actually be more ships since the picture is taken from a ship? in front of the convoy.

  4. beegeagle says:

NNS Thunder and at least ten other vessels participated. I am aware that NNS Andoni also participated.

Judging from the masthead, the platform behind the NNS Dorina appears to be an OCEA FPB 72 Mk.II patrol craft.
