  1. emereuwa says:

This makes more sense than the previous scanty soft bodied hilux vans we used to see.
Hope they can show us troops moving with intimidating firepower in long convoys like we saw of the Tchadians. Such imagery has a way of swelling the populace with pride and gives them confidence that their troops are doing a good work and are capable of protecting them.

It will also make any BH elements think twice before rearing up their heads from their foxholes.

  2. Snow-ball says:

How can I get the video?

  3. ugobassey says:

Video cant be viewed from the US.

  4. asorockweb says:

    Iraqi BTR-4s

Notice that lack of missile launchers, just like in the Nigerian BTR-4s.

Also, the Iraqis are reporting technical difficulties with the vehicle. I hope we are having better luck.

    • Capt Tobias Wilcock says:

      Where is our Igirigi

      • Henry says:

Our Igirigi has always been a key part of the fight. We don’t yet have enough manpower to mass produce them in significant quantities.

However, we are manufacturing at a good pace.

Igirigi’s are mostly deployed in mubi, maiduguri and Abuja.

      • Capt Tobias Wilcock says:

Thank you Oga Sir Henry, you made my day

  5. lachit says:

    @beegeagle
just out of curiosity i want to know weather the army uses satellite maps (the commercial ones that u can buy) for intel and for finding enemy troop movements.

  6. mcshegz says:

Maps of areas of operation are currently provided by NASRDA’s earth observation satellite NigeriaSat-2. As regards areram movement, i know Nigeria’s DIA’s been very vocal recently as to the American’s lukewarm attitude to sharing actionable intelligence as at when due; Nevertheless, Nigeria CH-3 UAV’s and ATR surveillance flights creatively plug this very necessary need for now.
Oga Lachit. I respect your hustle sir.

    • lachit says:

i looked up NASRDA in wiki. man i was impressed especially on its focus on space applications in agriculture, flood control management, meterology and rural communication.

NASRDA should keep its focus and invest in technologies to start building satellites in house without any outside help.
also it is disappointing for me to see that nigeria has no space collaboration with india.
i hope in future both countries can work together in this field.
india is currently working on reusable launch vehicle which will lower launch cost significantly.
if u r interested to know more. u can visit this site. a good read
      http://isp.justthe80.com/launchers/reusable-launch-vehicle—technology-demonstrator-rlv-td

      • mcshegz says:

Oga Lachit. I respect your hustle sir.
Indeed sir, India and Nigeria must continue to foster robust relationships in all areas, space technology included. India should be commended for its doggedness when it comes to space research and applications. India’s cheap but efficient mars mission was another proof of India’s ingenuity, costing less than the movie Gravity. Nigeria’s full fledged locally produced satellite should be ready before 2018, all things equal, while efforts are ongoing to develop launch capabilities. Nigeriasat-x developed by Nigerian engineers was launched in 2011, albeit with foreign technical assistance.

      • lachit says:

one of the quickest way to build up space capability is to establish inter organizational relation.with other space agencies
nigeria and china are already collaborating.i believe nigeria is looking to send a astronaut with chinese help.it will surely motivate the nation and help NASRDA to gain more funding and talent. plus it will instill pride in all nigerians.
small thing go a big way in building a nations psyche.
also in the african region nigeria can claim leadership in this field since it already has a solid foundation on operating satellites.
it can provide services in the way of remote sensing, disaster management, weather prediction.etc
the economic and socio political milage to be gained is immense .

  7. Oje says:

Nigeria has more satellites in Space than the combined number 9 Egypt, South Africa, Angola and Algeria (only other African countries with a presence in Space) combined. How else will Nigeria’s unmanned Drones fire live missiles in real time if not vectored by real time imagery from NIGCOMSAT? I feel horrible we allow ourselves to be rubbished by hitherto insignificant countries while we have ready at our disposal the financial and technological resources and assets to build up the most formidable military machine the black race has ever seen. This is the downside of democracy. As a criteria to have sanctions lifted, debt cancelled and financial aid the West, after the return of democracy required Nigeria to cut down its military, reform it’s economy, privatise the power sector and invest more on education and infrastructure. The result is while we have indeed made great economic strides our security forces and infrastructure has been severely affected. We are seeing the consequence.

  8. Oje says:

Oga Lachit, Nigerians in India n are killed extra judiciously with no respect or regard for human rights. Pakistan on the other hand have courted Nigeria, proposed a ballistic missile technology transfer, offered it’s JF-17 and even defied U.S directive to halt the sale of American made Pakistan attach Choppers and went ahead with the transfer, the Saudi government had to physically stop the cargo aircraft delivering the weapons and forced the plane to land. Now you know why? Yet there are 6 times more Indians in Nigeria than Pakistan. Nigeria and Pakistan share a common enemy hence the natural affinity when it comes to security.

    • lachit says:

well what u said is really shocking to me
there are good and bad people everywhere.
i believe u r indicating the incident at goa. what u fail to realize is that it was a clash between 2 groups involved in drug peddling .it was definately not a extra judicial killing.government had nothing to do with it .
plz look up the meaning of extra judicial killing in dictionary.
my interest in nigeria is because i had the fortune to have as a friend a nigerian whom i hold in great regard.what u say is not going to effect me in the least.
if tomorrow a indian in nigeria does something and is killed by rival criminal gangs will i be correct to accuse nigeria of extra judicial killing..
it is always better to think 1000 times before writing such baseless things

nigerias is a soveriegn nation she is free to do any business with any nation as she deems fit.
and u r living in a fools paradise to think pakistan will give u missile technology.do u have any idea what that means
plz keep dreaming no point in waking u up

      • igbi says:

Thank you for your statement, know that oji doesn’t speak our mind. By the way he is an american, not a Nigerian.

      • igbi says:

although I have to say that Pakistan has been very helpful to Nigeria and please, i know that there seem to be a problem with Pakistan and India (even though you guys are brothers). So please I am asking you as a favor to not bash Pakistan here.

      • igbi says:

        * a problem between pakistan and india

      • lachit says:

        @oje
and also plz also explain why nigerians every year turn up in large numbers to study in india, many on their friends recommendation and why not pakistan.???
in my daily life i came across people who are totally bad
and i am sure things are same in ur country.
every country has its share of bad people
if u cannot understand this simple thing then its hightime u stop trying to figure out the nitty gritty of geo political games being played about.

      • Sir Kay says:

Even though you are partially right @lachit, there were officials in that indian province insulting Nigerians and calling us names, i read about this, to the extent that one official told people there not to rent homes to Nigerians, it was a truly sad period, but also, this wasn’t something initiated from the central Government of India, but locals officials surely were involved, it was like Nigerians were being hunted down. But as i mentioned, this was a local incident and wont judge all of india for it.

  9. lachit says:

    @igbi
    why should i bash pakistan
nigeria shares relationship with both pakistan and india
it is not my business to interfere in others peoples matters
i was only replying to oje since he raised the issue out of nowhere

    • igbi says:

Thank you I was just afraid because I was under the impression that there were a misunderstanding between both nations. It is nice to see that you are above that.

    • Bola David says:

But Indians are not to be courted anyway. The coach man of this blog is a witness and knew what I am talking about. We hired lots of Indians and they turned out to bullies. Not even sound in the business we hired them for.

      • lachit says:

well then i have nothing to say
u dont even appreciate the fact that i tried to reasoned with u all without hurting anybodys feelings.
well u stay happy in ur ignorance and i will stay in mine
and to bola david “what u say about others the same could be said about u too”
        enough said enough listened
this is my last post at beegeagles blog
i wish everybody goodluck and Au revoir

      • igbi says:

please as a personal favor, let us stay on topic and not bash india

      • igbi says:

@lachit, please don’t go, these folks do not speak our mind. I do appreciate your posts.

      • kulture1 says:

Oga lachit, There is no need to be put off of Beegeagle blog because of some irrelevant rantings. To the best of my knowledge, this is a defence blog where the Nigerian DEFENSE MATTERS are analyzed and valuable ideas are offered to help protect our country. Sincere and friendly contributions by bloggers across the world is highly welcomed and yours is much appreciated.Nigeria and India have good relationship with each other, nor is India an enemy to the bloggers here. Every one has right to his opinion, even though not every opinion is based on sound intelligence. I believe you are always appreciated and your contributions are valued. Long live the friendship and cooperations between our two great countries of Nigeria and India….Cheers.

      • rugged7 says:

Lachit, u appear to be taking certain comments too seriously.
You need a thick skin in this blog because a lot of things u don’t like will be said.
Just comment on whatz important and ignore the rest.
Itz a military blog not a social blog anyway.
Obviously ur weapons platform analysis are useful and we all appreciate ur continued contributions.
        However, if ur that sensitive….Goodluck

      • Sir Kay says:

Brother, no need to walk away because of what 2 people or less have to stay, wear that thick skin, ha, people will always have their own opinion. No country is perfect or people for that matter.
No asking you to stay, but dont feel bullied away either, its not that serious bro.

    Iraqi BTR-4s.
Notice that lack of missile launchers, just like in the Nigerian BTR-4s.

    REPLY :

My brother don’t take this personal, just saying a little correction. I mean no argument.

Iraq ordered 2,700 units of anti-tank guided missiles for their own BTR-4 IFV, they have already received about 1,000 units of the ATGM.

Also, Iraq purchased over 10,000 units of anti-tank guided missiles between years 2013 and 2014…..you still want to compare Nigerian army procurement style? For us in Naija army, ATGM is like a curse…..we run away from buying it as if it is Ebola.

    • asorockweb says:

      What is the correction?

      • Augustine says:

Open your eyes and read your comment and the reply. You gave a wrong piece of information on Iraqi BTR-4 IFV and ATGM capability.

      • asorockweb says:

So “your eyes” can see missile launchers in the picture that I posted?

If you saw missile launchers in the picture I posted, please highlight it.

I posted the picture because the Iraqi BTR-4s look just like the BTR-4s that we got and also because they are reporting technical difficulties with the vehicle.

Are you having one of your regular bouts of imagination reality?

      • Augustine says:

@asorockweb, your main problems are just two.

        1. Pride and arrogance
        2. Poor research

Go on SIPRI arms transfer database and educate yourself there, Iraq ordered 2,700 ATGMs for their BTR-4 and they received 900 ATGMs already.

Pride and arrogance just makes you mess yourself up so many times, you feel too big to be corrected. Your problem not mine.

      • asorockweb says:

Your own problem is much simpler and easier to fix: reading and comprehension.
How an educated adult could possibly misread a 1 sentence paragraph is bewildering.

  11. beegeagle says:

Kai, Lachit..don’t be so sentimental. Where are you going? The first respondent answered your question so forget about the ‘bonus’ that followed. Stay on course. Bharat is your compatriot and he is not going anywhere? So why do you feel crowded out?

Nigerian satellites actually relayed imagery of the mission area during the deployment of Nigerian troops to Mali in 2013.

HIGH-LEVEL NIGERIAN MILITARY TEAM VISIT NATIONAL SPACE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT AGENCY; NIGERIASAT-X RELAYING AREA IMAGERY TO NIGERIAN AFISMA CONTINGENT

Again, after purported outrages at Baga in April 2013, the Nigerian satellites also provided satellite imagery to back up claims that the town was not flattened.

NIGERIA’S SATELLITES CAPTURE BAGA EVENTS..EVIDENCE AND REVIEW STRONGLY SUGGESTS ARBITRARY ANALYSIS AND EXTRAPOLATION BY HUMAN RIGHTS WATCH

Nigeria have the capacity to relay our own satellite feed to the guys in the Northeast, even if that relay does not provide live footage.

    • Oje says:

Oga Beeg you funny o. Na my comment be “bonus” now. What is wrong is the statement I made. Anyway. …..

    • geopapa says:

Oga Beeg! Please it is up to you to bring order to the house whenever issues as this arise. Most of us spend hours daily reading this blog and i can tell you it really impact us positively, each day i come here to read inspiring and patriotic views of my country and i get motivated…SO PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW THIS KIND BAD AND USELESS TALK take place here…Thank you Sir

  12. Oje says:

If everyone in this Beegesphere were to leave because of their feelings being hurt nobody will remain by tomorrow. The young man wants to leave? Shey you see the syndrome I keep talking about? Rather than see his participation here as a privilege he thinks he’s doing us bunch of Africans a favour and we dare “hurt his feelings” for pointing out a bad spot in India Nigeria relations? Oh please get over it, is Bharat not Pakistan? It’s clear the sensitivity is beyond what’s written here……I lost my car key, abeg later.

    • Bharat says:

      I am Pakistani? Since when?
      LOL! get real.

It seems you have memory problem.
Let me take you back to Sept 2014 on this very blog.

    • lachit says:

      @oje
      ur a ingnoramus
go through the thread again and see that it was u who dragged pakistan and india into the discussion.i was having a nice discussion with mcshegz on space technology when u decided to butt in with with ur nonsense

and may i take the take the pleasure to tell u that A NATION HAS NO PERMANENT FRIENDS AND NO PERMANENT ENEMIES, ONLY PERMANENT INTERESTS
if today india and pakistan are enemies, in future they might be friends or even better they they might become one single country as was 60 years ago.who knows?
u dont have the calibre even to think about that.

what SYNDROME are u talking about ? u cant even even put ur thoughts clearly in writing.
it is best if u continue keeping ur rants limited to the end of the world, stupid conspiracies and aliens occuping the earth.ur a genius at that, this much i admit.

“pointing bad spot in india nigeria relation”
no need to tax ur brain so much u might suffer a brain stoke
and deprive everybody of the much needed entertainment from the hilarious comments u provide from time to time.

      • Bharat says:

        @lachit,
No need to boil your blood over him.
As you can see many here including General Beegs want you to continue, take a call.

Discuss, with the posters who want to discuss, off topic posts/posters can be side lined and left untouched. Those are good leaves as we say in cricketing parlance.

      • Bharat says:

        *Leave

  13. Oje says:

Lachit take your sensitive tantrums and shove it where it belongs. Do not bring your Indo Pakistan imbroglio here. How do we entertain this? Can a Nigerian go yo an Indian blog spewing all this crap come back alive? Omo take a chill pill o

  14. Oje says:

Bharat, you be mumu, your sense of VIP status here is stupid. We’ve had General Eeben Barlow from South Africa, we’ve had a Philipino friend and even European observers, all show respect, you two scums obviously have an agenda. …

    • giles says:

oje! oje!! oje!!!, in igbi tone leave dis blog, y do u always attack pple who opposes ur views

frm the bottom of my heart u are hurting pple

      • Sir Kay says:

And he’s the only one who does that? That’s the point here isn’t it.
Every one should have the right and space to voice their own opinions without being policed, even Beeg himself doesn’t talk people down, regardless of how lame their point might be. But there are some people that just won’t shut up until they shove the so called knowledge down your throat.
So i would say every one should calm down and let’s not derail the thread with personal attacks, Oga Beegs worked hard for this.

      • igbi says:

There is a very big difference between stating ones opinion and actually doing reasearch and reasoning to arrive at a conclusion. Everybody has an opinion, the harder thing is to do some actual work rather than stating one’s opinion. When you submit a paper work to your maths teacher, even if you tell him that 2+2=5 and that that is your opinion, he will still mark you 0. Fact and opinion are not the same. here we prefer dealing with facts rather than opinion.

  15. Oje says:

It appears I can’t say one thing without causing controversy, ok fine fine fine……since this is a unanimous consensus I’ll leave, but for a while. I’ll be back in 2 months. Carry on.

  16. Oje says:

Adios bloggers, Oga Beeg, keep the Green White Green flag flying high. Respect men, you too much.

    • lachit says:

      @oje
no point in being sensitive .
u said so ur self. in fact u have more right than me to stay on this blog.
      nobody is perfect.
i am ready to apologize to u if i hurt ur feelings
but i stand firm on my views
ur comments were very insensitive and u seem to view every comment of mine from the narrow prism of indo-pak relationship
man i am really clueless about this attitude of yours
again if it is of any solace to u i apologize again
i hope we can be friends if not that at least good competing bloggers.
CHEERS HOPE TO SEE U COMMENTING SOON

      • Sir Kay says:

Mr Lachit, every one should have the right to be here, Only Oga beeg get to make that decision, not any one else, so if you are here, you have as much right as any one else to be here.
As mentioned before, let’s squash this and try to get along.
